[Press Release: September 9th, 2002] DE BURCA WELCOMES AN BORD PLEANALA'S DECISIONS ON MOBILE PHONE MAST FOR BRAYGreen Party councillor, Deirdre de Burca, has welcomed an Bord Pleanala's recent decision regarding a proposed mobile phone mast at Boghall Rd in Bray. Earlier this year Bray Town Council had refused the ESB's application for a 36 metre high free standing communication tower, carrying antennae and communication dishes, associated storage and fencing at Pinewood Close, Boghall Road, Bray. The ESB subsequently appealed this decision to an Bord Pleanala."I am absolutely delighted to see that the Board has upheld Bray Town Council's decision" said de Burca. "The Board ruled that because of the location of the proposed tower in relation to nearby residential properties, and given the Guidelines on Telecommunications Structures issued by the Department of the Environment in 1996, the development would be contrary to the proper planning and development of the area. The hundreds of local people who objected to this planning application wil be extremely relieved" she said.
