CCTV Gets Go-Ahead in Ballywaltrim Playground

Green Party Cllr. Caroline Burrell welcomed the Ballywaltrim Playground beside the Community Centre finally getting the CCTV camera erected and connected up.

Cllr. Burrell said, "The CCTV was given the go ahead in the Bray Town Council 2007 budget which is more than a year ago, but there have been subsequent delays in relation to getting permission from the Gardai, erecting the pole, installing the camera and then getting it connected up to the Bray Garda Station as part of their overall CCTV Monitoring Station. I have been pushing for this to happen and have kept it on the Town Council's & the Joint Police Forum's Agenda and its great to see it finally taking place."

"There has been a big issue of Anti-social behaviour and drinking parties taking place in the children's playground over the past two years as well as graffiti and playground equipment being destroyed which is a shame as this Playground was only put in over 5 years ago. We want to have a playground that has robust play equipment that can be used by as well as a safe place for the children to play. We have also set aside funding to upgrade the Playground and this CCTV being installed will allow this to happen. I will be requesting that Bray Town Council now go ahead with the upgrade so we have a great playground for all the children of the area to play in."
